Why we only cover 11 companies

A lot of data room review sites try to cover every company out there. We decided not to.

Most data room comparison sites try to list everything: thirty companies, forty companies, every tool that has ever called itself a data room. We think that just makes more work for the person reading it. If you are trying to pick software for a deal this month, you do not want a long list to wade through. You want a short one you can actually trust.

That is what we built. We cover 11 companies, and we check our facts again whenever a company changes its price, its features or its security certification. A company only gets on the list if it can handle a real deal on its own, not just store files with a password on them.

How we put a review together

Every company on the list gets scored the same way, on five things: how many deal tools it has, how secure it is, how easy it is to set up, how clear the pricing is, and whether it has modern tools like AI. The math behind that is on our scoring page, and the facts we score come from each company’s own website, its published pricing, and outside security certifications like SOC 2. We have not personally tested every one of these tools ourselves, so you will not see us claim we ran a live trial in a room; where a check really matters, we turn it into something you can go check yourself.

11 Data Room is part of a small group of independent data room review sites. Ellty, the product behind a few of those sites, is one of the 11 companies we cover here. Our scoring page explains how that is handled.
